

Charles E. Jolliffe, 99, Kokomo, passed away Thursday, July 21, 2016. He was born Sept. 10, 1916 in Kokomo, the son of Charles and Effie (Middleton) Jolliffe. Charles served in the United States Army during World War II. He retired from Chrysler and was a member of UAW 685. Charles attended Highland Park Church. He enjoyed flying and was in pursuit of his pilot’s license in earlier years. He enjoyed fishing trips in Minnesota, which included visiting family there, woodworking, dogs, camping and even watching area wind turbines being constructed. Each morning, he enjoyed having breakfast at the Windmill Grill. Above all, Charles enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. Charles is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Barry and Connie Jolliffe; his grandchildren and their spouses, Melissa and Phil Williams and Bryan and Kala Jolliffe; his great-grandchildren, Mallorie Williams, Heidi Williams, Patrick Williams, Evan Williams, Garrett Jolliffe, Gabrielle Jolliffe and Baby “G” Jolliffe, who is expected to arrive in September of this year; his nephew and his wife, Donald and Thelma Zartman; his sisters-in-law, Anne Sandvig and Barbry Karich; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mildred on Jan. 10, 2015; his two sisters, Fern Zartman Miller and Elsie Tucker; and a brother in infancy. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 27, 2016, at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home, 2097 W. Alto Road, with Pastor Ed Vasicek officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 26 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery where military honors will be conducted.
