

Cheryl A. Allen, 73, of Kokomo, passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at her residence. Cheryl was born on December 24, 1944 in Kokomo to the late Fred and Aileen (Hunt) May. She married Gary Allen on June 2, 1983 in Kokomo, and he survives.
Cheryl retired from General Motors after 30 years of employment. She was a member of the UAW #292. Cheryl enjoyed gardening and her pets. She was an avid reader and was very active. She enjoyed going on long walks and used to be a runner. Cheryl was known as sassy and was very social with many friends.
Cheryl is survived by her husband, Gary; sons, Douglas (DeAnn) Allen, and Joshua C. Allen; daughter, Kelly (Larry) Carpenter; five grandchildren, Devan Carpenter, Derek Carpenter, Tyler Allen, Alise Allen, and Matt Rayot; six great-grandchildren, Reagan Carpenter, R.J. McGee, Aiden Carpenter, Alana Carpenter, Alli Rayot, and Carson Rayot; sister, Peggy May; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death are her parents; son, Anthony McFall; and brother, Gary May.
The family would like to thank Great Lakes Hospice nurses and aides for the wonderful care provided to Cheryl.
The funeral service for Cheryl on Friday, March 2, 2018 from 2:00pm at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel, 3400 South Webster Street, Kokomo, officiated by Pastor Brad Swain. Burial will follow at Albright Cemetery. There will be a time of visitation for Cheryl on Thursday, March 1, 2018 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm, also at the mortuary. Memorial contributions for Cheryl may be made to the American Cancer Society or American Diabetes Association, envelopes will be provided at the mortuary.
