IN THE CARE OF
Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home & Cemetery
Clara Louise Nay, 92, of Kokomo passed away in her home December 16, 2018 with her family by her side. She was born in Stanford, Kentucky on March 27, 1926 to Jonny and Annie (Ray) Smith.
On July 14, 1944, Milton “Pete” Nay married Louise, bringing her to Kokomo from Kentucky, and then shipped out with the military just one week later. She didn’t let this get her down. She stayed in Kokomo and began work at Delco, retiring from there after more than 40 years. Louise was a member of UAW local 292. She kept busy outside of work in her garden or fishing, or just playing in the dirt, then after retirement, spent many hours at the Kokomo Senior Center playing BINGO and any card game you were willing to play with her. Louise was a member of Lighthouse Missionary Baptist Church and enjoyed her church family. In fact, she loved all of her family, and spent as much time as she could with them. Louise will be greatly missed.
Louise is survived by her son, Terry Nay; grandchildren Shawn and Tomora (Ronnie); great grandchildren, Vauntes, Drezahn (Ashlye) and Zoie; and many, many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband Pete, Louise was preceded in death by her 12 brothers and sisters; she was the last to survive.
Family will receive friends Friday, December 21 from 4-6pm at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home, 2097 W. Alto Road, Kokomo, IN, with service to follow.
