Danny loved walking and could often be found strolling through Markland Mall. He made friends wherever he went and never met a stranger. He was a passionate fan of the Indiana Pacers and Purdue. Among his many talents, Danny proudly referred to himself as a chef, often sporting his chef’s hat and jacket while preparing meals for those he loved.
He was previously a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Southside Christian Church, and St. Luke Methodist Church. At the time of his passing, he was a devoted member of Peace Lutheran Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, Albert Leroy West; his mother, Bobbie Gene West; his paternal grandparents, Bertha Markley, Kelly Markley, and Roy Paul West; and his former wives, Diane West, Rebecca West, and Teresa West.
Danny is survived by his sister, Ruth Hoosier; his brothers, Michael West (Christina) and James West (Shelley); and his fiancée, Betty Zehring. He also leaves behind his cherished nieces and nephews: Renanda Hoosier, Copper Hoosier, Korey West, Kollan West, Karson West, Kaleb West, Kayla Maddock, Chelsea Fields, Erika Tegarden, and Elijah West; along with many great-nieces and great-nephews. His best friend, Louis Wiggington, who was more like a brother, also survives.
Danny’s life will be celebrated and remembered as a testament to his spirited, uplifting, and loving nature. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
