David Lee Nelson

David Lee Nelson, 77, of Kokomo, passed away at 8:08 PM Monday November 6, 2017 at Community Howard Regional Health, Kokomo. Born May 19, 1940 in Kokomo, he was the son of the late Claude Nelson and Alice (Mote) Nelson. In 1958 he married Nancy Jo Stiner. She preceded him in death. In August 1991 he married Laura May Denham. She preceded him in death in October 2005. He was employed with Ortman Drilling for over 35 years, before retiring. He enjoyed playing guitar and fishing.

Survivors include one son Jason A. (Tricia) Nelson of Tipton; two daughters Natosha Nelson and Lorrie (Greg) Paul, both of Kokomo; his companion Jean Brown of Kokomo; one brother Jerry Nelson of Kokomo; one sister Louise Nelson of Kokomo. There are also several grandchildren including Sheila (Harvey) Wilson, Sonia (Justin) Halbrook, Marina (Jeremy) Catt, Mylan Nelson and companion Raychel Keller, Maren Nelson and Grayson Boonstra. There are also several great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; also by his first and second wife.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Friday, November 10, 2017 at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel, 3400 South Webster Street, Kokomo. Pastor Dave Welsh will officiate. Burial will follow at Shiloh Cemetery, Howard County. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Friday at the mortuary.
