Delores Leida Chapman

She was born to Joseph and Emma Lou (Snedden) Mearnic on September 30, 1929, in Nanty-Glo, Pennsylvania.

On June 9th 1947, she married James H. Chapman.

Delores graduated from Hazel Park High School and went on to Oakland Community College. She was a teacher's aide and taught Sunday school. Deloris loved the Lord our God with all her heart. You would often hear her singing hymnals and Christian songs, throughout her home lifting her hands in praise. A few of her favorite songs to sing were "How Great Thou Art" and "Lift Jesus Higher."

She is survived by her children James J. Chapman and wife Debora, Karen L. Bowden and husband Robert P, Ricky T. Chapman and Charlene K, Donna J Boyer, Robert A. Chapman and wife Linda, Doug Merrell and wife Theresa. Deloris was blessed with 17 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and 16 great-great grandchildren.

Delores is being greeted at Heaven's gate by her parents, her husband James, daughter Donna, two grandchildren Kimmy and John Henry, and one great great grandchild Thurl James.

She is not wearing ugly shoes.

Visitation will be from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM Thursday December 19, 2019 at White Chapel Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel of Psalms, 621 W. Long Lake Road, Troy, MI 48098. Graveside services will follow with Pastor Dale Hunter officiating.
