

Douglas Gene Coffey, 62, passed away at St. Vincent Hospital in Kokomo on Wednesday morning, November 15, 2017. Doug was born to Randall and Elizabeth Coffey on October 10, 1955 in Kokomo. He graduated from Haworth High School in 1975 and went on to work at and retire from Chrysler after over 30 years of service. He was a member of Local 685.
Doug was a hard worker, and some would say a workaholic and a perfectionist. Doug was a master craftsman, and enjoyed woodworking and splitting wood. He could build houses from the ground, up. He also loved to work outside, gardening and landscaping.
Doug is survived by his sons, Travis, Chad, and Dustin Coffey; step-daughter Mindy Phillips; siblings Terry (Leon) Brock, Terry (Kim) Smith, Randall Jr. (Jill) Coffey, and Jeff Bunch; grandchildren Austin, Kelsey, Mason, Skyler, and Ryker; several nieces and nephews; and caretakers and friends Nancy Coffey and Sue Fowler.
He is preceded in passing by his parents, Randall and Elizabeth Coffey; grandson Emanuel; and Amanda Perry.
Friends and family may call from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Monday, November 20 at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel.
