
Elmer Dewitt Doyle, Jr., Kokomo, passed away on Monday, November 10, 2014, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Huntington. He was born May 13, 1926, in Lewisburg, Kentucky, to Elmer and Viola (Knight) Doyle. On October 27, 1966, he married Lucy (Litteral) Doyle, and she preceded him in death on May 15, 2002.
He served in the United States Army from 1955 to 1957 and worked at Stellite for 34 years, retiring in 1985. He was a member of SWOR and United Steelworkers Local 2958.
He is survived by one son, Michael (Bev) Doyle, Huntington; three step-daughters, Nola Oren, Clarksville, Georgia, Betty Grant, Cocoa Beach, Florida, and Virginia Frazier Wilson, Kokomo; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Debbie Paulson; step-daughters, Gladys Slone and Wilma Hall; and step-son, Earl Riffe.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
