Obituary of Elrico Lavell Barbary
Elrico "Rico" Lavell Barbary Sr. 49 of Kokomo, In. passed away Saturday, July 31, 2021 surrounded by his wife and family. On September 1, 1971 he was born to Peggy Barbary and Julius Brown. On June 28, 2002 he married Melissa (Risen) Barbary, and she survives. Rico was a 1990 graduate of Kokomo High School. On September 24, 1997 he began working for Tyson Fresh Meats. And for the last 23 years there, he was well liked by many coworkers. Rico was an avid sports fan and he enjoyed watching his 49ers , Yankees, Duke Blue Devils, and New York Knicks. He used to coach Pal football and Eastside Youth League, where he impacted many kids along the way. He also had a passion for his fur babies (dogs). Along with his wife of 19 years, he leaves to cherish his memory, two sons; Elrico Barbary Jr. and Todd Warren, both of Kokomo, three daughters; Rashell Tyler, Rasheeda (Rondell) Greene, and Janessa Risen also of Kokomo, two sisters; LaCandra Barbary of Kokomo, and Mackenzie Aurthur of Tatum, Texas, two brothers; Julius Aurthur of Tatum, Texas and Brian (Melissa) Williams of Indianapolis, seven grandchildren; Elrionna Tyler, Ramerrion Tyler, Ra’Myia Tyler, Rashawn Greene, Ra’Shyia Greene, and Milani and Maliya Ferguson, all of Kokomo, one niece; Aliyah Barbary, two nephews; DaShaun and Amari Barbary, all of Kokomo, and also a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and a mother in law. He is proceeded in death by his parents, maternal grandparents; Ambus and Annie Barbary, Paternal grandparents; Edna Mae and Rufus Brown, aunt Bobbie Jean Wilson, and uncle Tyrone Brown. Viewing will be Monday August 9, at Ellers Mortuary on Webster from 4pm-8pm. Services will be at Wayman Chapel AME Church; 920 North Apperson Way Kokomo IN. at 11 am. Burial will follow at Kokomo Memorial Park cemetery.
