He was born February 5, 1971, the son of the late Ora Glen Rody, Jr., and Fannie Rody, who survives.
Eric attended Northwestern High School and Ball State University. He went on to work in the financial field and later worked for Marsh, General Motors and Wabash International. He enjoyed coin and gun collecting, classic cars, marching bands, and working out. He really loved metal and experimental electronic music.
On March 2, 2007, he married Kristen Michelle Rody (Dawson) and spent 16 wonderful years with her until her passing on June 14, 2023.
Eric was an active member of the Connexion Church (formerly known as St. Lukes United Methodist Church). Eric loved the outdoors, cooking and spending time with family. He had a tremendous sense of humor, warm laughter, generous spirit and deep love for his family, friends and church. He was an amazing father and an even better man who changed the lives of those around him.
Eric is survived by his son, Liam Rody, and stepson, Tyler Born; his mother, Fannie Rody, who through her love, guidance, strength, and kindness shaped Eric into the extraordinary person that everyone came to love and admire. He also leaves behind sisters, Cindy (Tom) Hazelgrove and Denise (Greg) Seiter; brothers, Scot Rody, Bret (Julie) Rody, and Brian Rody; uncle, Sandy (Marilyn) Lowe; and many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Eric was preceded in death by his wife of 16 years, Kristen Rody (Dawson); his father, Ora Glen Rody, Jr.; and his grandparents.
There will be a celebration of life to honor Eric on Saturday, September 5, 2026, from 3pm until the time of the funeral service, 5pm, at Ellers Mortuary and Cremation Center, 3400 S. Webster St. Kokomo.
