Ernest was the son of Ernest and Lizzie (Massengale) Voiles.
He served honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era, from September 5, 1972, to August 28, 1974. His final station of service was in Babenhausen, West Germany, a chapter of his life marked by duty, commitment, and steadfast service.
On January 27, 1973, Ernest married Sharon Leisure. In the years that followed, he found his greatest meaning in the life he built with Sharon and in the time he shared with those he loved most—cherishing simple moments, showing up faithfully, and valuing family above all else.
Ernest is survived by his wife, Sharon Voiles; his daughter, Jennifer Voiles; his son, Christopher Voiles; his grandchildren, Braylyn (Gage Ray) Voiles, Nathan Trobaugh, Breanne Voiles, Thomas Trobaugh, Addison Trobaugh, John Voiles, and Jessie Voiles, and his great-grandchild, Keaton and Kane Ray; his sisters, Carolyn (Michael) Curts and Dotty (Scott) Huntsman; his brother-in-law, Peter Leisure of Alma, MI; his sisters-in-law, Esther (Ernie) Heath, Lisa Leisure and Anita (Wes Stebbins) Seekel.
