Eugene "Red" Bowman, 97, of Kokomo, Indiana passed away on August 23, 2026. He was born on April 29, 1929, the son of Sparky Bowman and Bessie Rains. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Eugene retired from General Motors after thirty years of employment. On April 22, 1950 he married the love of his life Betty Lou See.
He loved fishing with his buddy, Harold Hall, mushroom hunting, and was an avid baseball fan. He coached Little League for 15 years. Most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren. Eugene also enjoyed woodworking and made many birdhouses.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Nancy (Kenny) Wells, Mike Bowman, Donald Bowman, Kim Haggard; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife, Betty; second wife, Barbara; sons, Danny, Dennis, Jim, Richard; grandson, Danny Eugene; sisters, Ann and Irene; and furry companion, Bruno.
Visitation will take place from 11:00 am until the start of funeral services at 12:30 pm on Friday, August 28, 2026 at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home, 2097 W. Alto Road, Kokomo. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery.
