Obituary of Frank Deditch, Jr.
Frank Deditch, Jr., 79, of Kokomo, Indiana, passed away on September 27, 2022. He was born on November 18, 1942, in Greensburg, PA, the son of Frank and Ann Deditch (Ludvik). On September 13, 1962, he married Carol Deditch (Duncan) who survives. Frank retired from the Air Force after twenty-one years of service. He was a Vietnam veteran who was awarded the bronze star with valor. Frank also retired from General Motors after twenty-nine years. Beyond being a hardworking man, Frank was also a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who loved being called Poppy. In his free time, Poppy enjoyed working alongside his loving wife, Nanny, in their backyard oasis. He was a jack-of-all-trades who found no project too difficult, even losing days, at times, because he seldom read directions. He loved traveling across the U.S. visiting 47 states, collecting mini boulders along the way. Frank was a hardcore "Ford Man" who was often teased by his GM co-workers. Recently, his love of old western movies and TV shows brought him comfort. Surviving relatives include his loving wife of 60 years, Carol; three children, Frank D. Deditch, Sr. (Ann); Kathryn Tinder; son-in-law Joel Tinder, III; Pam Wise (Steve) all of Kokomo, IN; twelve grandchildren, Christopher, Victoria, James (Heather) Ashcroft; Lacy, Shandi, Abigail, Frank, Jr. Deditch; Joel IV (Danielle), Jalen, Cierra Tinder; Kyrsti Stryker (Garritt); Kyli Bowers (Joe); twelve great-grandchildren, Kay, Slade, Bentley, Mikki, Aiden, Bryn, Cayson, Isaiah, Ada, Miles, Mirabelle, Hudson; one brother, Joe Deditch (Ellie) of Yulee, FL, and several nieces and nephews. Frank is also survived by several who considered him a father figure, Suzy and Jeanne Jojola, Diona Smith-Collins, and Teri Dryer. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Teresa "Teri" Ashcroft, and brother Steve Deditch.
