George D. Brown, 73, of Kokomo stepped into glory at 1:11pm Friday, October 12, 2018 at his home with his daughters by his side holding his hands. He was born September 24, 1945 in Owensboro, Kentucky.
He was raised by his father, Charles Brown, and two special angels, James and Jewel Bowlin.
George worked at Chrysler for 31 years, retiring in 2004. He enjoyed traveling, playing poker, hunting, fishing and going to small town festivals. He would do anything he was invited to do. George was a number one busybody! He married Connie Salmon and together raised two daughters, Shannon Dinger and Lisa Kellar. He later married Beverly Brown, who preceded him in death in 1998.
George is survived by his daughters, Shannon Dinger and Lisa Kellar (Jason Garber), grandchildren Brett Dinger, April Williams, Morgan Beard and Landon Beard; great grandchildren, Dominik and Zekial Dinger and Aria Williams (“the Baby”, as he called her); sister Edith (Steve) Hayes; nieces Kelly, Carolyn and Terri.
In addition to his father, George is preceded in death by sister, Linda Minton; and brother, Charles Brown.
The family would like to thank his very special friend and caregiver, Dawn Damron, and Guardian Angel Hospice.
Family will receive friends Wednesday, October 17 from 2-4pm at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home, 2097 W. Alto Road, Kokomo, Indiana 46902 with services to follow at 4pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Guardian Angel Hospice.
