George Edward Steele Jr.

George Edward Steele Jr., age 76, of Kokomo, Indiana passed away one day before his 77th birthday on Monday, February 24, 2025. He was born February 25, 1948 in Peru, Indiana to the late George and Mary Steele.

In his younger years, George was a member of Boy Scouts of America. George worked as a farmer for Curless Farm Inc. in Wabash, Indiana, a job that he absolutely loved and took great pride in. He enjoyed the outdoors, whether it was cooking out with his family or running around with the animals. His favorite pastime was visiting the Senior Citizen Center in Kokomo, and catching up with his girlfriend(s). He was very family orientated, whatever his family was doing he loved to tag along with them. He loved his stepchildren and their children as if they were blood. He spoiled them all just the same, too.

George is survived by his brothers Michael Steele and John Steel of Lagro, Indiana, stepchildren; Tammy Hoffman (Bill) of Peru, Indiana, Linda Spillman (Roger) of Peru, Indiana, Walter Orpurt (Shannon) of Kokomo, Indiana, and Errol Orpurt (Hollie) of Peru, Indiana; 13 step-grandchildren and many step-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents George is preceded in death by his wife Florence (Orpurt) Steele, step-daughters; Michelle Orpurt and Sandy Hernandez.

A Celebration of life will take place at a later date.
