Harold E. Buffum, 88, of Kokomo, passed away at 12:39 AM, Friday, June 2, 2017 at Community Howard Regional Health. He was born October 16, 1928 in Kokomo to the late George and Donna (Bookout) Buffum. Harold married Aileen (Adams) Buffum in July 1949, and she preceded him in death in 2003.
After Harold retired from the railroad company, he went on to work at Chrysler Corporation and retired after 35 years in Tool & Die Skilled Trades. He was a member of the UAW#685. Harold was a man of many talents. Harold never met a stranger and he will be missed by everyone who knew him.
Surviving by his children, Eric Joe Buffum, Kim A. Buffum, and Rickey L. Buffum; grandchildren, Kelly A. (David) Martin, Julie (Chris) Lovegrove, Stephanie (Rashod) Washington, Michael (Stephanie) Buffum, Vincent (Merrisa) Buffum, Anthony Buffum, Adam (Terry) Buffum, Shawn (Gabby) Buffum, Travis Buffum, Rickey (Amber) Buffum, and Courtney Wilson; brothers, David L. Buffum and Ronald J. Buffum; sister, Martha E. Jacksonand special cousin, Bob Bookout; and He was great-grandpa or “Paps” to 26 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson; and many nieces and nephews.
He also leaves behind very special friends, Marge Swing, Joe Fisher, Rex Plough, Dan Phenice, Joel Noel, and Bill Maples.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Donna Buffum; loving wife, Aileen; son, Michael E. Buffum; grandson, Justin M. Buffum; daughter-in-law, Kathleen C. Buffum; and brother, Billy G. Buffum.
Funeral services will be at 1:00PM Thursday, June 8, 2017, with one hour of visitation prior to service, at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel, 3400 South Webster Street, Kokomo with Pastor James Trippett officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery, Chapel of Peace. Friends may visit with the family, also from 4:00PM to 8:00PM on Wednesday, June 7, also at the mortuary.
