Harold Wayne Martin, 74, of Kokomo passed away September 12, 2019. He was born September 26, 1944 in Knoxville, Tennessee to Fred and Princess (Hill) Martin.
Harold entered the Navy as a young man directly out of school and was on his way to the Bay of Pigs when the two governments came to an agreement and the situation was de-escalated. When he left the Navy, Harold then came to Kokomo and began working with Cuneo Press and then for Haynes International. He retired from there after 35 years. In his spare time, Harold liked spending time outdoors watching birds and enjoying nature. He also loved his family dearly. He would play with the young children and talk to them in a Donald Duck voice, which they all loved. He looked forward to spending time with his large extended family both in Indiana and Tennessee. He was a giving man that loved Jesus and devoted his life to God and to helping others. He will forever be missed and will be remembered for all the good things he did for his family and for his community. He attended Morning Star Church and Fairlawn Church before that. He gave to many charities including Easterseals, The Olympics Foundation, Veterans and many more.
Harold is survived by his four sons, Randy, Brian, Jerry and Nick; 4 brothers and sisters (of 22), 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, both here and in Tennessee.
In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by 17 siblings.
A memorial service will be held at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home Saturday, September 21 at 11am.
