

Hazel Marie Adams, 85, Kokomo, passed away at 1:03 PM, Thursday, January 4, 2018 at her residence. She was born January 3, 1933 in Tipton, Indiana to the late Jasper and Ethel (Hewitt) Bogue. She married Charles Adams on January 7, 1950 in Kokomo. He preceded her in death on January 22, 1992.
Hazel was the previous owner and operator of Miller’s Tavern in Kokomo for 32 years. She worked in restaurants and catering her whole life. Hazel was the first woman in the state of Indiana to hold a bartender’s license. She was known for her positive attitude and great sense of humor. She enjoyed crocheting and reading.
Surviving are her two daughters, Sally Ann (Danny) Vyain, and Susan Michelle (David) Hayes; eight grandchildren, Matthew, Allison, Morgan, Brendon, Devin, Madison, Riley, and Creighton; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Edna Lou; and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Preceded in death are her loving husband of 42 years, Charles; her great-grandson, Vincent Joseph Kindt; her parents; six brothers; and four sisters.
There will be a Celebration of Life for Hazel at a later date.
