Hazel Marie Hedrick

Hazel Marie Hedrick peacefully entered heaven April 15, 2017 surrounded by her grandchildren. She was born in Kokomo on February 18, 1923 to Minnie (Maxwell) and Everett Taylor. On February 17, 1940, she married Frank Hedrick and they enjoyed 53 years together before his passing in 1993.

She is survived by her loving grandchildren, Sandy Merlo (Nick), Steven Seaton, Amy Hensley (Ben), Cecilia Frakes (Russ), Julie Hedrick, Joe Hedrick (Sue), Jeannie Wagener (Tom), Jeff Reed (Diane), Debbie Hickey, Michelle Boruff (Bill Barron). Also surviving are a daughter-in-law, Linda Johnson, 18 great grandchildren, and 17 great-great grandchildren with one on the way. She worked at Delco, retiring in 1978 after 30 years. She was a lifelong member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church and a member of UAW Local 292.

Preceding her in death were 4 brothers and an infant sister; children, Susie Seaton, Frank Hedrick, and Cecilia Boruff; along with 2 grandchildren, Michael Seaton and Bethanne Seaton.

The family would like to thank the staff at Northwoods Commons Assisted Living for loving and looking after our grandmother for the last four and a half years. May God bless you all.

Mass will be held Thursday, April 27, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 3155 S. Dixon Road, Kokomo. Father Matthew Arbuckle will celebrate. Burial will be immediately after mass at Crown Point Cemetery.
