Henry Spotwood Pharris
April 8, 1933 – August 18, 2018
IN THE CARE OF
Ellers Mortuary
Henry Spotwood Pharris went home to be with the Lord on August 18th, 2018. Henry was born to Andrew Belden and Effie J. Pharris on April 8th, 1933 in Jackson County, Tennessee. Henry worked for Continental Steel for 34 years and was a member of the Steelworkers Union. He then went on to work at the Kokomo Country Club in grounds maintenance. Henry married Peggy Depew on March 19th, 1956.
Henry liked to work with his hands, always doing projects. He was the original McGyver. If Henry didn't know how to do something, it was something to be solved. He never met an appliance that he couldn't fix. Henry enjoyed flee markets and car shows. He loved to cook. He had a big heart and was full of life. He had a strong spirit. Henry was loved by his family and friends and always will be.
Henry is survived by his wife, Peggy Pharris; son Jeff (Donna) Pharris; grandson Trevor (Kiley) Pharris; cousin Oneida (Bob) Scott, who was like a daughter; nieces and nephews Donnie Depew, Dea Depew, Loretta Morgan, Joretta Black, and Doug Trent.
Henry's family would like to extend a special thank you for all the hugs and love that he received in his final days, and Guardian Angel Hospice Care for their compassion.
Memorial contributions can be directed to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org/involved/donate or 2723 Albright Road, Kokomo, Indiana 46902.
Friends and family may call on Friday August 24th, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel. A memorial service will follow at 7:00 PM, officiated by Pastor Gary Hoover.
