James W Baker

Baker ( Stahlsmith), Jim and brother Donald Baker and sister Edna Mae all grew up in Montpelier Indiana.

On Nov 27, 1954 he married his love Loretta (Jane) Lawrence . Together they have 3 Daughters, Carol Adams (Michael Hatcher) Cocoa Beach, Fl; Shirley Hoggatt (Bernie Hoggatt) Kokomo, IN ; Marilyn Baker Courtney Sharpsville, IN. Also, 6 Grandchildren Jason (Shannon) Courtney, Katrina (David) Bray, Shawn (Kristen) Douglas, Bonnie Baker, Shannon Stephens (Robert Cox) Brandi Douglas (Brandon Pennington) and 17 Great-Grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by both parents Robert and Edna, Son in law Raymond (Chico) Adams and great granddaughter Talayeh Barnett.

Jim took care of his family always. He was in the National Guard for 2 years then went to work for 3M in Hartford City, In 1968 he was then hired by Chrysler as a millwright until he retired after a bad car accident in 1997. Afterwards, he and Jane did some traveling and made a home for themselves in Florida for awhile. He loved fishing, woodworking and bowling but what he loved the most was the warm Florida weather and his family. The Lord took him home at 2:41A.M on May 17th. No services, we will have a celebration of life for immediate family.
