He was born in Marion, Indiana on June 10, 1947 to Blondell and Mary Katherine Hager. Jim attended High School at Maconaquah before going to work at Smirfit-Stone Container in Wabash, IN for 43 years, where he retired in 2011.
Jim worked hard and played hard. He worked hard for his family and loved his children and grandchildren more than anything. He also adopted many animals along the years and enjoyed spoiling them greatly. When he wasn't working he enjoyed tinkering on cars, going to car shows, and attending auctions. Jim, in his retired years, enjoyed his lazy boy, westerns, and late night TV sermons.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents Blondell, Mary, and Louise Hager; as well as his partner of 25+ years Jeannie Krile.
He is survived by his children Jamie (Jean) Hager, Ricky Taylor, Leatha (Chris) Denney, Scott Taylor, Ernest Taylor, and his grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings; Clarence Seifert (Patti), Kathy Kirk (David), Jeanie Davenport (Garry), Teresa Betzner (Rex).
The viewing will be held on January 16, 2024 at New Life Church in Kokomo, Indiana at 11:00 am with funeral service at 12:30 pm. The service will be immediately followed by a procession to Mount Hope Cemetery in Peru for burial.
