

Janet S. Fording, age 86, of Kokomo, IN passed away peacefully on Friday July 1, 2022, attended by her daughters and surrounded by the love of family and friends. Sue was born in Miami County, IN on April 8,1936 to Raymond and Kathleen (Kling) Dunn. She grew up there with her younger brother, Norman J. (Marlene) Dunn.
Sue graduated from Clay Township High School of Miami County, IN in 1954. Sue was a talented musician playing clarinet in the band, was piano accompanist for the choir, and played the accordion. She was a member of 4H all four years medaling often in cooking, sewing and design. Sue proudly attended Girls State as a representative of Miami County, IN.
Sue began work for Public Service Indiana after graduation where she met and subsequently married Bobby R. Fording (deceased) in 1955. She also worked for Kingston Products Corp. and at A&P Grocery from which she retired to spend more time with her family.
She is survived by her three daughters Karen S. (Mark) Klebe, Joni K. Simmons, and Marla J. (David) Morgan; five grandchildren Leigha N. (Brett) Messner, Michael S. (Sophie) Klebe, Brock N.L. Morgan, Bailee M. Morgan, and Aaron L. Simmons; and four great-grandchildren Gideon J. Morgan, Savannah A. Messner, Oliver P. Klebe, and Chandler K. Messner. Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Kathleen (Kling) Dunn, and her nephew Joseph A. Dunn.
Sue was accomplished at many aspects of homemaking: sewing, painting, gardening, cooking, bookkeeping and playing the piano. She was happiest while spending time with or sharing food with family and friends. Her life was devoted to creating and maintaining a nurturing home environment for her husband and children. She taught by example the values of love, truth and faith. She provided care and support for many in her extended family and gave her love and encouragement to everyone around her.
There will be a time of visitation for Janet Sue on Saturday, July 9, from 9:30 A.M. until 11:30 A.M. at Ellers Mortuary Webster Chapel, 3400 South Webster Street, Kokomo. The funeral service will be at 1:45 P.M., also on Saturday, at Loree Brethren Church, 8483 S. Strawtown Pike, Bunker Hill, with Pastor David Stout officiating.
