Deb and Mike.

There are no words that could be spoken to help, heal or take away the pain you both feel. No parent should have to say goodbye to their child in this way. I have fond memories of our early days. Our kids were so close in ages. My pregnancies proceeded yours Deb and I vividly remember you being pregnant with Jason. What a beautiful dark haired boy! He looked so much like you and Ricky looked just like his Dad. Those were glory days for both our families.

Even as time went on and the business of life prevented us from not being as involved with each other as before, we stayed in contact and concern for each other and our kids. We have been like family and good neighbors for such a long time. Rick and I both are so saddened and our prayers are with you and all the family. We pray for your peace and comfort and hope for a time ahead in a better world to come when there will be no more tears or death. We are deeply sorry and send our love to you all.

With much sympathy,
Betty and Rick Hougland family

It’s hard for me to remember a time when Jason wasn’t part of our family. Having practically grown up together, he seemed more like a brother than a nephew. His wonderful smile and wicked sense of humor will be greatly missed. May he forever keep heaven filled with laughter. Comfort is found in knowing that he is no longer in pain. This is not goodbye but rather, a see you later.

Love always, Aunt Polly

Jason was a kid you were lucky to call friend. I grew up with him at Bon Air, then through our years at KHS. He even took us 20 plus girls in his truck to the power puff game. (He loved that truck). He loved helping and being apart. And we all loved him! May your memory be forever remembered! We will add you to our celebration of life tree at South Campus. The flowers are from all of us strong, independent, fun Northenders!
Love!
