Jean Ann Huffer, age 76, of Kokomo, Indiana passed away at home surrounded by her family on Sunday, May 19, 2024. Jeanie was born in Kokomo on July 6, 1947 to the late Everett and Margaret Ringeisen. Jeanie graduated from Western High School in 1965 where she was crowned Miss Western Days in 1964. She was active in theater, music, and cheerleading. She then graduated from Huffer Beauty College in 1965. She married her high school sweetheart, Terry, on July 10, 1965.
Jeanie practiced as a master cosmetologist and had a dedicated clientele for approximately 40 years. She was an active servant in the church at Morning Star and New Fairlawn. She was active in the adult choir and music ministry as well as directing Super Gang children's choir for 21 years. She handed down her love of music and her love of Jesus Christ to her children and many others. She loved fishing, international and national traveling, sewing, cooking for family and friends, and above all she loved caring for others.
She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Terry Huffer, children: Richard (Tonya) Huffer, Kathryn Huffer, Jennifer (Chad) Barlow, Jason (Amy) Huffer, grandchildren: Richard Jr., Mattie, and Lily Huffer (Richard and Tonya), Christina (Marcos Ramirez), Grace, and Rebekkah Dorton (Kathryn), Jordan, Rachael, and Mackenzie Barlow (Jennifer and Chad), Mason Keith, Avery, and Carson Huffer, and Makenna and Mason Blake Sowder (Jason and Amy), great grandchildren: Isabella and Kai Ramirez, siblings: Michael (Nancy) Ringeisen and Karen Douglas (Mike) McCroskey.
A visitation for Jeanie will be held Thursday, May 23, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Radiant Life Ministry, 1602 E Gano St, Kokomo, IN. A visitation will occur Friday, May 24, 2024 from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM at Radiant Life Ministry. A funeral service will occur Friday, May 24, 2024 at 12:00 PM. Jeanie will be laid to rest in Shiloh Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Jeanie's name may be made to Riley Children's Hospital and St. Jude Children's Hospital.
