

Jean D. Johnson, 95, passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2013, at her home. She was born August 6, 1918, in Noblesville, to Oscar and Esther (Davis) Penwell. On September 5, 1939, she married Alfred Johnson, and he survives.
She enjoyed sewing and vegetable and flower gardening. She was very family oriented and always prided herself in keeping a perfect bed and a very clean house. She was past president of the Ladies Grotto and a member of the Eastern Star and McGrawsville Methodist Church.
In addition to her husband of 74 years, she is survived by three daughters, Sue Moss and her husband Robert, Nancy Shipley Brown and her husband John, and Diana Blades and her husband Larry; son-in-law, Robert Brown; eight grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Priscilla Brown; six sisters; and three brothers.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Messages of condolence may be expressed online at www.sunsetmemorygarden.com.
