Jeanette Ilene Hickman

Jeanette Ilene (Crowder) Hickman, 104, Kokomo, passed away on August 14, 2019 at Aperion Care in Kokomo. Mrs. Hickman was born on August 4, 1915 in Springfield, IL to Charles and Jessie (Wiley) Crowder. In 1918, the family moved to Delphi, IN, and Mrs. Hickman moved to Kokomo in 1942 to work for Haynes-Stellite as a part of the defense industry. She was the wife of George W. Hickman and had been a member of the Trinity Methodist Church. Mrs. Hickman is survived by her nieces: Nancy (husband Larry) Hill of Kokomo and Pam (husband Bob) Fortson of Kokomo; step-sons: Michael and Gary Hickman; great niece and nephew: Kelly (husband Chad)Ackerman and Kyle (wife Monique) Fortson; niece and beautician, Jackie Branch. Mrs. Hickman is preceded in death by her husband, parents, and siblings: Florence Katherine Crowder, Wilbur Clay Crowder, Charles Rosevelt Crowder, Thomas William Crowder, PerryPaul Crowder, Mary Ether Crowder, Dorothy Violet Crowder, Luella Mae Crowder and Marjorie Noreen Crowder. Funeral services for Mrs. Hickman will be held Monday, August 19, 2019 at 12:30 PM at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home, 2097 West Alto Rd. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:30 AM until the time of the service Monday at the funeral home.
