

KOKOMO-Jerry Wayne Watson 76 passed away Monday January 3, 2017 at Aperion Care of Kokomo IN. after an illness. Jerry was born to Kenneth and Betty (Goodman) Watson in Kokomo IN. on June 21, 1940. Jerry graduated with the class of 1958 from Clay Township in Miami County he then joined the U.S. Navy and served on the submarine USS GRENADIER around the Key West area during the “Bay of Pigs” until he was honorably discharged.
He then returned back to the Kokomo area and worked for Chrysler until his retirement in 1997. Jerry was a motorcycle lover having owned Harley Davidson and BMW bikes he had toured every state in U.S. on a motorcycle.
He was an animal lover also previously owning Appaloosa and Arabian horses and dogs Jake an Airedale Terrier and Maggie a Jack Russel Terrier. Jerry enjoyed bird hunting and especially living on the Tippecanoe River around Rochester area.
Jerry is survived by Son, Kenneth Watson of Kokomo, Sisters Carolyn Barnett, Judy Dybelski and Janet Radcliff and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by Parents and a Brother James Watson. The family would like to give a special thanks to Trevor Watson “Grand Nephew” for his care of Jerry during his last few months.
A gathering of friends and family will be Friday January 6, 2017 at 1:00pm – 3:00pm at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home 2097 West Alto Road Kokomo IN 46902 with a funeral service with military honors immediately starting at 3:00PM with Pastor Don McDowell officiating.
