Jessie Lee Bolden, 78, departed this life on Saturday September 14, 2019 at 7:26 p.m. She went to her Heavenly Home on High. Born December 28, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Jesse Lee Hoosier and Alberta Merriweather Coleman. Mother Jessie Lee Bolden attended her earlier years of schooling in Clarksville, Tennessee. She also attended Burt High School where she ran track with the Great Wilma Rudolph. She moved to Kokomo Indiana in 1957. She worked at Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Stellite, in the maintenance department, and she retired from Delco Electronics. She had a passion for family and children, even if they weren't hers. Mother Jessie Lee Bolden was a great help to her mother, raising two siblings, cooking, cleaning, and helping around the house. Mother Bolden loved to sing songs of praise. This mother professed Christ at an early age. She was very dedicated to the churches that she attended; First Assembly, New Bethel Tabernacle, and later in life Christ Temple Church in Kokomo, until the Lord called her home. She is survived by five children; Serita Dillard, Louis Merritt (Annette), Randall Hoosier, Barbara Jean Johnson (Wilford), Mary Douglass, and a special son Leon Williams, one brother Tyson Nix, a step son Jeff Smith, a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother Alberta Merriweather Coleman, father Jesse Lee Hoosier, four sisters, Ella Mae Vance, Nancy L. Tyler, Lena M. Jones, and Laura L. Allen, one brother Lockert Coleman, and three sons, Richard, Earnest, and Kishum Hoosier. Services for Mother Jessie will take place at Greater Mount Olive Temple; 600 E. Alto Rd. in Kokomo with Pastor Nathaniel Blackamore officiating Friday September 27, 2019 at 11 a.m. The visitation will take place at Ellers Mortuary Main Street Chapel Thursday evening from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Burial will follow the service at Kokomo Memorial Park Cemetery.
