Jessie graduated high school in Clinton County. She worked at Target in Kokomo, Indiana, where she later retired.
Jessie was married to Gilbert Winkel, and she held close the people who mattered most to her. Her life was enriched by family and friends.
In her quieter moments, Jessie found comfort and meaning in reading and writing short stories. She also treasured her cats, whose companionship brought her daily joy.
She is survived by her daughter Kartiena Davis, seven grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. She also leaves behind her "adopted" daughter Stacy Maxwell (Douglas).
In addition to her parents Jessie is preceded in death by her husband Gilbert Winkel, daughter Jessica Miller, as well as all of her siblings.
