KOKOMO – Joan Peacock 83 passed away Monday at Primrose Retirement Community surrounded by her loving family. Joan was born to Harvey and Ruth (Knisely) Lewis in Kokomo. Joan married Floyd Peacock, he would proceed her in death earlier this year. She worked at Delco for 30 years until she retired. Joan was a member of the UAW local 292 and the Delco Camper Club.
She and Floyd wintered in Leesburg, Florida at Tara Village. Joan and Floyd also volunteered at Century Villa Health Care. They traveled to South Carolina building houses after hurricane Hugo. Joan Loved going shopping. The most important thing to Joan was her family and friends whom she loved and cherished. Joan never met a stranger and was loved by everyone she came in contact with, she had a huge heart and you knew it the moment you met her.
She is survived by children Patti (Tim) Bishop, Jim (Carol) Ade and stepdaughter Tamara (Tony) Boesiger; Grandchildren, Mary Louise Ade, Jake (LaTasha) Bandelier, Brandon (Niesje) Bishop and Shane Sorensen. Great-grandchildren Hazel and Landry Bandelier and Cruz and Kannon Bishop, Joan was preceded in death by her Husband, Parents, Siblings, Wilbur (Dee) Lewis, Betty Burke, Charles A. Lewis. A special “THANKS” goes out to the staff at Primrose Retirement Community, Guardian Angel Hospice aids Sherri and April, and caregiver Brooke Hines who showed their love, care and affection to Joan.
A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday, December 15, 2016 at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home, 2097 W. Alto Road, Kokomo, IN 46902 from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM. A funeral service will be Friday, December 16, 2016 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home with Pastor Joel Flowers officiating with burial immediately to follow at Sunset Memory Gardens Cemetery.
