She was the youngest of 11 children, and was raised in Frankfort being related to most of the people that live there. She graduated from Frankfort High School in 1941 and was married the next year to Glen M. Taylor. She and Glen moved to Kokomo and lived there for more than 79 years, together they raised 4 children. She later on began a career at JCPenney where she worked for more than 20 years. She was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church.
JoAnn is survived by children Glenn L. Taylor, Larry J. Taylor (Pam), Debbie A. Edwards (Timothy), Mary E. Joyner (Kenneth); her grandchildren Duane Taylor (Edra), Jason McLain (Josie), Brian McLain, Adam McLain (Sarah), Kelly Babbs (Jody), Shelly Nelson, Christy Taylor, Jonathan Joyner (Robyn) and Kirk Joyner (Tara). She also leaves behind several great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, JoAnn was preceded in death by her grandson Caleb Joyner and her daughter-in-law Beth Taylor.
A visitation for JoAnn will be held Friday, December 30, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Ellers Mortuary & Crematory Center, 3400 S. Webster Street, Kokomo, Indiana 46902, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM.
