John T. Hoban Jr.

John T. Hoban Jr., age 73, went to see his Lord at 12:08 am on August 26, 2017. John was born on April 11, 1944 in Kokomo, to John Hoban Sr. and Juanita (Miller) Hoban. John married his wife Ruth (Martin) Hoban April 18, 1969 and she survives him.

John was a 1962 graduate of Kokomo high school. Soon after graduating, he enlisted in the Marine Corps serving his country from 1962 to 1968. John retired from Chrysler after 32 years of service. He was a member of the Kokomo VFW, belonged to the Eagles and was former secretary of the Eagles in Kokomo. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and working outside. John was passionate about God and enjoyed volunteering and being active in his church. He especially loved spending time with his friends, family, and his beloved wife.

John is survived by his wife Ruth, son; Michael (Beth) Hoban of Westfield, daughter; Michelle (Steve) Barrett of Warsaw, brother; Joe Hoban, grandchildren; Alex (Brenna) Barrett, Laura Hoban, great-granddaughter Noa and his extended family and beloved friends.

John was preceded in death by his parents and brother; Jerry Hoban.

Funeral Services for John will be Thursday, August 31, 2017 at 3p.m. at South Creek Church of God, 5937 S. Park Rd. in Kokomo with Pastor Aaron Perry officiating. Visiting hours will be from 1p.m. to 3p.m. prior to the service. We will conclude the service with Military Honors. Any memorial contributions may be directed to South Creek Church of God.
