Joseph Michael Ewing

Joseph Michael Ewing, 69, of Kokomo, IN passed away on August 11, 2022. He was born on August 24, 1952 in Kokomo, Indiana the son of Marianna Ewing. On September 22, 1973 he married Anita Ewing (Hutson) who survives.

Joe graduated from Kokomo High School in 1971. He worked for the City of Kokomo for 35 years. During his time with the City of Kokomo he served under five different Mayors as the Street Department Commissioner. Joe enjoyed coaching youth sports at Carver Community Center, Eastside Youth League, YMCA and Northwestern Youth Sports. He had a passion for helping others and participating in fundraising for many different causes. He also enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and many friends with whom he had maintained contact as far back as elementary school. We also can't forget Joe's love for his many pets throughout the years.

Surviving relatives include his wife Anita Ewing of Kokomo, IN; three sons, Scott Ewing (Melissa) of Fishers, IN; Chad Ewing (Sarah) of Fishers, IN; DeWayne Ewing (Annie) of Sharpsville, IN; grandchildren, Kinsey; Joslyn; Phoebe; Campbell; Norah; Aidan and Samuel; two sisters, Patty Schmitt (Norman) of Russiaville, IN and Janet Anderson (Joe) of Kokomo, IN.

He was preceded by his mother and three brothers, Bill Ewing; Robert (Sammy) Ewing and Tom Ewing.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at Reach Church Kokomo 1520 N. Apperson Way, Kokomo, IN 46901. Visitation will be 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home. Share a memory with the family at www.sunsetmemorygarden.com.
