Juliet "Julie" Jane Windell, a lifelong resident of Kokomo, passed away on January 25, 2026 at the age of 66. She was born May 9, 1959 to the late Marvin and Beverly Fields. Julie's humorous, kind-hearted, and cherished nature left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.
Julie graduated from Haworth High School in 1977. Throughout her life, she dedicated herself to her work and family. She worked as a bus driver for Kokomo Schools for 10 years and served as a Nurse's Aide in a local nursing home for many years.
Julie's family was at the center of her world. She was married to Larry Windell, and together they shared a loving family. Her children and grandchildren will fondly remember all of the times she teased them.
Julie's personal interests filled her life with joy and laughter. She enjoyed singing, cooking, and trying her hand at DIY projects, although someone else often finished them. She loved watching crime shows and game shows, and occasionally watched football, reluctantly. Earlier in life she enjoyed playing Bingo with her mother-in-law.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her infant son, Austin Joseph Windell; her sister, Lore Dishman; her mother-in-law, Winona Windell; her father-in-law, Rex Windell; and her nephew, Michael Moran.
Julie is survived by her loving husband, Larry Windell; her children, Kevin Windell (Rachel) and Derek Windell; her grandchildren, Madison Windell and Kamden Windell; her sister, Kathy Moran (Scott); her nieces, Megan Dishman, Rachel Dishman, Kristi Dechelle, and Bailey Buhler; her nephew, Nathan Moran; and her brother-in-law, Jerry Windell (PJ).
