Kathy Spier, passed away peacefully April 8, 2018 with her family by her side. A great Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother she was born July 3, 1949 in Bonne Terre, Missouri, daughter of the late Mark and Lela McCarron. Married for over 30 years, she and Jim shared a life that dreams were made of. Early years of marriage found them travelling for Jim’s work until Kathy put down roots in Kokomo as a small business owner. All whom loved her dearly will never forget her laughter, undying love, unyielding kindness and her professional karaoke skills (White Lightning). She had a sense of humor that was simply contagious. Kathy was world-renowned for her ability to out fish the rest of her family and a year never went by without someone getting a crocheted blanket, tablecloth, or dishcloth. There is no doubt, she holds the world’s record for the most number of purses owned. She leaves behind her family that she was very proud of. She will be sorely missed and survived by her Husband Jim; two daughters Tina (Daniel) Roberts and Sarah Waters; one sister Marsha (Ronnie) Storie, one brother Bob (Judy) Koch. There are also six grandchildren and three great grandchildren and a lot of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers, also by her son Michael "Mickey" Bone. The latter of which came to carry her on to her new address. Her husband Jim said “Thirty years with her seemed like just thirty minutes. Just not enough time.” A Celebration of Life will be 6:00 PM Thursday April 19, 2018 at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel, 3400 South Webster Street, Kokomo. Pastor Jeff Sexton will officiate. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM Thursday at the mortuary. Memorials may be directed to the Kidney Foundation with envelopes available at the mortuary.

I'm still coming across facebook posts that you had clicked 'Like' on and it seems surreal - that you have moved on thru the journey of life.
As we move forward in life and away from our childhood into adulthood we drift away from the tight bonds we had as children and bonds that only children can know. But I can remember the Saturday nights where Mom and Aunt Lela would go to Dunks Hamburger joint in Desloge and buy a huge bag of those $0.10 cent Dunks Hamburgers and we would all sit on the front porch and have a hamburger party. Or out there in Mitchell, Missouri catching fireflies (or as we commonly called them 'Lightening Bugs") . . . Marsha hitting a home run with an axe handle we used as a ball-bat.
I recall you teaching me a certain bedtime prayer : " Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my Soul to keep, if I should die before I wake, I pray the Lord my Soul to take . . .
Rest in Peace Kathy.
