Kathleen Laura (Foust) Porter, 92, of Kokomo, Indiana passed away June 28, 2018 at St.Vincent’s Hospital to be with Christ Jesus. She was born January 5, 1926 in Clay Township, Miami County, Indiana to Charles “Jake” and Eva (Hammer) Foust. She graduated from Bunker Hill High School in 1944.
Kathleen married Ernest Porter April 3, 1948, and together they had three children. Kathleen was employed at GM Delco Electronics and retired in 1985 after 30 years of service. She enjoyed genealogy and had been an active member of the genealogy club. She also volunteered at the Kokomo Library to help others learn of their genealogy. Kathleen was a loving mother who supported her children and sacrificed to ensure each received a college education. She was an independent and resourceful person who loved and lived for her family.
In addition to her parents and husband, Kathleen was preceded in death by her brothers William (Bill), John and Allen Foust.
Kathleen is survived by her three children: Susan (Bill) Rawls of Hoover, AL; Linda (Rudy) Rounder of Zionsville, IN; and David (Connie) Porter of Indianapolis, IN; four grandchildren: Amanda (Stephen) Brooks, Peter (Christi) Rawls, Charles (Chun Sun) Porter, and Jennifer (Dave) Terpstra; and four great-grandchildren: Emmalise Rounder, and Lauren, Kaylee and Claire Terpstra, as well as seven nieces and eleven nephews.
Visitation hours are Friday, July 6 from 5-8 p.m. and Saturday, July 7 at 10 a.m. with funeral service to follow at 11 a.m., all at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home, 2097 W. Alto Road, Kokomo, IN 46902. Burial will follow at Clymer Cemetery.
