

He served in the United States Navy during WWII in the Pacific Islands from 1938 to 1945 where he survived the sinking of two ships he served on, the USS California at Pearl Harbor and the USS Chicago in a battle at sea. He later worked for ASARCO as a truck driver at a copper mine for over twenty years before retiring in 1980. He enjoyed gardening and fishing and loved keeping his cars spotless. He was a member of the VFW.
He is survived by his son, Kenny Farrell, Jr., Kokomo; daughter, Dana (Roger) Bowman, Tipton; six grandchildren, William Richardson, Tipton, Jamie (Chad) Bowlin, Kokomo, Misty Deiter, Kokomo, Jason (Rachelle) Rowe, Oklahoma, Joshua Farrell, Tucson, Arizona, and Chris Farrell, Tucson, Arizona; one brother, Leonard Max Farrell, Stuart, Florida; and one sister, Helen Bossard, Sebastian, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and one sister.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery’s Chapel of Love with military rites. Burial will follow. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, www.woundedwarriorproject.org. Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
