Kenneth Pernell Johns, age 70, of Kokomo, Indiana went to be with our heavenly father on Wednesday, October 29, 2025. He is now bowling in heaven. Ken was born in Dandron, Virginia on November 11,1954 to Edith (Austin) Johns. He served in the United States Air Force honorably, from 1974 though 1980. He attended the Community College of the Air Force, earning an Associate in Applied Science for Aircraft/Power Plant Technology. He then attended Southern Illinois University, College of Engineering and Technology, earning a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology. He retired from Raytheon Technologies after 40 years of employment.
Ken enjoyed traveling, watching NCIS and FBI TV programs, and bowling. He was a natural "homebody", but he liked to amuse himself by getting "lost" in Lowes. He loved his family greatly and had an abundance of long-term friends that he stayed connected with for over 40 years. His absence will forever be felt because Ken was irreplaceable and deeply loved.
Survivors left to cherish his memory include his wife, Virgie Wright-Johns; his mother, Edith Austin; dad, Richard Austin; his daughter, Ashley Johns; his grandchildren, Carson Washington, Cameren Washington, and Carter Washington; his step-son, Danny (Marinna) Graham; step-grandchildren, Dillon, Justin, Austin, Danielle, Lis, and Braylee; step-great-grandchildren, Layna, Barry, Jema and Joann; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Ken was preceded in death by his aunt, Velma Flowers and his step-daughter, Jennifer Thompson.
