

Kenneth Marvin Mitchell, 83, Kokomo, passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at Waterford Place Health Campus. He was born December 26, 1930, in Guilford Township, Hendricks County, to Lyman and Mable (Kenworthy) Mitchell. On December 19, 1952, he married Janet Gray, and she survives.
He graduated from Clayton High School and served in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955. He worked as a supervisor at Duke Energy, retiring after 37 years. After his retirement, he and Janet moved to Kokomo, where he became a fan of Little League and the Kokomo Wildcats. He was a deacon at Calvary Baptist Church in Noblesville and a member of First Baptist Church in Kokomo since 1990.
In addition to his wife of 61 years, Janet, he is survived by daughters, Deborah (James) Ammerman, Avon, Pamela (Rod) Ratcliff, West Lafayette, and Libby (Greg) DeMaio, Kokomo; son, Kenny (Kim) Mitchell, St. Jacob, Illinois; grandchildren, Carrie Dunn, Darcie Adams, James Ammerman, Shelby Ratcliff, Korey Olds, Kyle Olds, Lauren Olds, Kaila Mitchell, and Marlea Mitchell; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Kevin Mitchell; granddaughter, Chelsea Marie Ratcliff; grandson, Thomas Mitchell; four brothers; and one sister.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery.
