Obituary of Kinley Lorene King
Kinley Lorene King, 7, of Kokomo, Indiana passed away Tuesday, September 25 in Indianapolis at Riley Hospital for Children. She was born in Kokomo September 17, 2011 to Brian and Amanda (Steele) King. During Kinley’s short life, she made an impact on everyone she met. She was a “pistol”, tomboy, unique, witty and caring. She always made sure to put others before herself, loving them in her own special way. Kinley loved to be outdoors fishing and shooting her bb gun; her dirty toenails and calloused feet were a badge of honor. You could find her outside with any kind of ball in her hand; or with her grandpa in his workshop doing woodworking crafts or with her other grandpa having a water fight in the yard. She loved and fiercely protected her big sister, Kylynn, unless they were fighting that day! And she loved her super heroes, Batman and Superman and all the DC characters. But now, Kinley is our superhero. Even in her tragic death, she was able to save three other children with the donation of her kidneys and liver. Kinley’s legacy will live on. Kinley is survived by her dad and mom, Brian King and Amanda (Steele) King; sister, Kylynn King; grandparents, Kenny and Karen Steele and Max and Margaret King; aunts, Anita King and Heather (John) Moore; and many, many cousins and friends. Family will receive friends Tuesday, October 2, from 4-8pm at Abundant Life Church, 1025 County Rd E 400 S, Kokomo, IN 46902. Funeral service will be October 3, 11am, also at Abundant Life Church, Pastor Charlie Riley. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Riley Hospital for Children, 705 Riley Hospital Dr., Indianapolis, IN 46202; or Indiana Donor Network Foundation, 3760 Guion Road, Indianapolis, Indiana 46222.
