

He was a 2005 graduate of Western High School, Russiaville, IN. He graduated from Vincennes University in 2007 with an Associate of Science Degree in Law Enforcement. He went on to graduate from Indiana University-Kokomo in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. Kyle finished his college career in 2013 by earning a Master’s Degree from the University of Cincinnati in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Law Enforcement and Crime Prevention.
Kyle previously had worked at Vincennes University campus as a Security Officer. He was a Reserve Deputy at Jonesboro Police Dept., Sheridan Police Dept., and Tipton County Police Dept. during his college years. He had an internship at the Howard County Sheriff Dept. He also had been on Harrison Township Fire Dept. for a few years. His most recent job was working for St. Joseph County as an in-home detention Case Manager in South Bend, IN until his cancer illness, when he then moved back home for treatment.
Kyle enjoyed many sports, but mainly Notre Dame football. He loved Notre Dame!!! Kyle knew all about Notre Dame history to the point of giving tours of the campus to anyone that went to the games with him.
Kyle loved serving the Lord and serving others. He was a member of Kokomo First Church of the Nazarene where he was a youth leader and a drummer in the Praise and Worship Band. He never knew a stranger. After spending a few minutes with him you had a friend for life!
Kyle loved spending time with family and friends, going to concerts, sporting events, and just hanging out playing games. He was an active member on the American Cancer Society Board as well as the IROK Foundation. He taught drums at Western, Knox, and Eastern High Schools.
Surviving are his parents Jeff and Pam of Kokomo, brother Alex (Amy) of Kokomo, girlfriend Madison Kellett of Greenwood, Maternal Grandmother Sandra V. Griffin of Kokomo, Uncle Larry (Lisa) Griffin of Kokomo, Uncle Jeff Griffin of Kokomo, Aunt Debbie (Bill) Zook of Kokomo, Aunt Karen (Ralph) Wilson of Belmont, NY, Cousins - Kevin (Christina) Griffin, Sara (Nick) Savoy, Kerri Griffin, Lori Taylor, Christy (Kyle) Fogg, Jill (Brian)Blume and Vincent and Michael Wilson, and many, many friends.
Preceded in death by Grandparents Larry E. Griffin and Raymond and Gail Onyett.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at the First Church of the Nazarene, 2734 S. Washington St., Kokomo, IN 46902. Visitation for family and friends will be held Tuesday, September 20, 2016 from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM, and prior to the funeral service from 9:30 AM until funeral service at the First Church of the Nazarene. Interment to follow at Albright Cemetery, 2210 Olds Court, Kokomo, IN 46902.
