Linda Susan (Shope) Johnson

Linda Susan Shope Johnson, 73, passed away Friday, July 28, 2023, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was born in Kokomo, IN, on April 1, 1950. Her parents were Junior Levon Shope and Charlene Maggie Cowan Shope. She enjoyed traveling, arts & culture, and philanthropy.

Linda was very active in the community and church. She was a member of the Woman’s Club of Booneville, Kappa Kappa Iota, American Association of University Women, and a former president of Business and Professional Women. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Booneville where she was part of the Rebekah class, Joymakers, and Women in Missions.

Funeral services will be 12:00 PM on Monday, July 31, 2023, at the Booneville Funeral Home with Bro. Jason Reed officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 10:00 until 12:00 PM. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Gardens in Kokomo, IN. Booneville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

She is survived by her son, Christopher Johnson and his wife, Tanya, of Tupelo; daughter, Jennifer Greene and her husband, Eric, of Doraville, GA; a brother, John Shope and wife, Kathy, of Elwood, IN; an aunt, Ada Cowan Warner of Orlando, FL; and grandchildren, Daniel Greene, Roger Greene, Abby Pearson, and Macy Pearson.

She is proceeded in death by her parents.

Pallbearers will be Chuck Johnson, Jamie Wanner, Stephen Greenway, and John Guin. Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Jo McAlpin, Michael McAlpin, and Bob Higgins.

In lieu of flowers memorials and donations may be made to the Tupelo–Lee Humane Society or Angelman Syndrome Foundation.
