Linda Lou Shipp

Linda Lou Shipp, 77, of Kokomo, passed away at Community Howard on Friday, March 19, 2021. She was born to Lowell Habel and Dorothy Shipman (Koos) on August 4, 1943. When Linda was 3, her father Lowell passed away, and she was adopted by Alva A. Shipman. She married Frank Downs in Delphi, and they were happily married for nearly 30 years. He survives her.

Linda graduated from Delta High School in Ohio. She attended Bowling Green University and IUK. Linda loved to read, go bowling, dance, and most of all spend time with her family. She was very loving and giving to those she loved.

Surviving her is husband, Frank; sons Joseph Berg (Debbie) and Galen Shipp (Dawn); stepson Monty Downs; brothers Jim (Laurie) and Terry (Carol Ann) Shipman; grandchildren Andrew Berg and several step grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death is her stepson Frank R. Downs "Downsy", and brothers Daryl Habel and Dennis Shipman.

A celebration of life will be held for Linda at Ellers Mortuary Main street chapel the evening of Wednesday, March 24, 2021 from 4-8pm.

Burial will take place for the family on Thursday at Dutch Ridge cemetery in Delta, Ohio.

Seeing you yesterday laying there just broke my heart. It still legit doesent seem real that u r never waking up and coming over to my house to see me or my kids again. You was the glue that kept our family together and going. God I wish I could have 1 more day to see you and tell you goodbye. You and your son joe adopted me and my siblings and never treated us any different than your own. I will live on and try to make you proud of me. Until we meet again grandma... rest in heaven angel. You will never be forgotten. We all love and miss u so much already

Some of my favorite memories were at the river and going to new york/ Canada. Will never for get how u never gave up on me and always believed in me ... I love ya and life will never be the same I miss u. Give my baby boy Jonathan a hug for me....I know u will always be looking over .u truly are my guardian angel.

R.I.P. Grandma Linda. I was so shocked to hear u passed away. My heart broke when I heard. All I can do is cry. You was always so blunt and caring and I thank you for all you have done for me and my kids and everyone else. I’m definately gonna miss seeing u and miss all the calls and emails we made to each other and I’m gonna miss all the family gatherings without you.
