Louanna Kay James

Kay James, 58, passed away Friday evening, December 29, 2017 at Howard Regional Health Hospital. She was born February 20, 1959 in Chicago, Illinois to the late William and Barbara (Slaybaugh) Lytle. On April 30, 1984 she married Dickie R. James, who preceded her in death.

She was a paper carrier for the Kokomo Tribune for nearly 25 years. For years she was an avid Bingo player. She also loved her trips to Vegas and the Casinos to play slots. Kay also looked forward to Saturday nights in which family and friends got together to play cards.

Her whole life was dedicated to her children and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her children include Taroba “Terry” (Brandon) Page; Rusty (Marlaina) Lytle; Dusty (Amanda) James and Donald (Jennifer) Ellis. Her grandchildren are Blake (Sarah) Lytle, Katherine Ellis, Elizabeth Ellis, Shiann James, Lexus James, Gemma James, Braxton Lytle and Maray Lytle. Her great- grandchildren include Ethan Lytle, Addilyn Lytle and Aurora Ellis.

She has left several brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews behind. Her siblings include Dana (Becky) Lytle, Randy Lytle, Lora (David) Fewell, and Valerie Hoffman. She is also survived by many brother and sister-in laws; Avery (Francis) James, Norma Carson, Cecil James, Patricia Hendricks and Tommy James. She adored her nieces and nephews Hope, Ronald, Jason, Katie, Chad, Jon, Dalten, Christian, Neeko, and Kason.

Kay was preceded in death by her parents Bill and Barb Lytle; Her husband, Dickie James; her sister, Jean Klein; her brothers, Roger Monroe and Jimmy Lytle. Her father and mother-in-law; Avery and Marietta James also preceded her death. She also lost a brother and three sister-in-law’s; Juanita Worthy, Alvin James, Mary Johnson and Wanda Woods.

Family will receive friends Saturday, January 6 at Sunset Memory Garden, 2097 W. Alto Road, Kokomo, IN 46902 from 11am to 1pm with services at 1pm, to be officiated by Steve Cole. There will be a gathering of family and friends at Russiaville Lions Club following services.
