Obituary of Louise M. Bennett
Louise Madelon (Ridnour) Bennett, 92, went Home to be with the Lord on Tuesday February 19th, 2019 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Louise was born to Omer and Ruth Ridnour on February 13th, 1927 in Russiaville. She was a 1945 Proud Classmate of Kokomo High School. After, she worked at Knipes Flower Shop from 1946 to 1948. Louise went on to marry her husband of almost 72 years, Kenneth "Kenny" Bennett, on April 18th, 1947 at Main Street United Methodist Church, and he survives. They met at Kokomo High School, and married upon his return from World War II. Louise and Kenny were a team. She was very adventurous, and loved to have fun with Kenny. They loved playing watersports, bridge, and tennis together. Louise was a wonderful mother for two generations. She was always active with them, fun being a priority. After raising her children, Louise worked as a Deputy County Assessor for 19 years. Louise was a member of the Tri Kappa Sorority for 74 years. Later, she volunteered at St. Joseph Hospital for thousands of hours. When she wasn't working, Louise enjoyed different types of art. She was very creative. Louise loved her family, her five children, and her children's children. She was selfless, patient, giving, and a strong woman of God. Louise leaves behind her husband; children Barbara (Fred) Price, Diana Sue (Robert) Ramos, Brad (Shirley) Bennett, Tamera (Jason) Alexander, and Scott (fiancé Breanne Martin) Bennett; her sister Carolyn Coker; 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Louise is preceded in passing by her parents; sister Beckie Ridnour Adams; brothers-in-law Max Adams and Sam Coker. Friends and family may call from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Monday February 25th at Main Street United Methodist Church 830 South Main Street Kokomo, Indiana 46901, with a funeral service following at 1:00 PM, officiated by Reverend Dr. Oscar Ramos. Louise will be laid to rest at Crown Point Cemetery following the service. Memorial contributions can be directed to Main Street United Methodist Church.
