Obituary of Mark Randall King
Mark Randall King, 60, of Kokomo passed away November 1, 2018 in his home. He was born September 26, 1958 in Kokomo to Orville and Alice (Weir) King. Mark grew up in Kokomo with his family, being the second youngest of thirteen children. As a young man, he enjoyed working on cars of any type, whether it was fixing them for his friends so they would run again, or working to restore classic vehicles. This passion remained with him through his years as he continued his mechanic work at a friend’s garage for anyone that needed a hand. His siblings remember him playing guitar in his room when he was younger, filling the house with music. He also enjoyed fishing, antiquing, mushroom hunting and shooting his guns. Mark loved his dogs as well; Purty, Abby, Spencer and Bentley were his loyal companions. In 2011, Mark accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and was an integral member of the Nevada Church of God in Nevada, Indiana as a trustee and usher. He spent a lot of time with his dear friends, Josh and Amanda Philapy and their 7 children, often vacationing with them as well as spending many hours with them at their home. Mark loved all of his family, his brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews, and all of his extended church family. He will be greatly missed. Mark is survived by siblings, Jerry, Steve, Jeff (Jenine), Max (Margaret), Mike (Jane) and Greg (Robin) King, Sandy (Jim) Cohee, Carol (Dan) Estle, Pam (John) Johnson and Tanya (Rhett) Wells; dear friends Josh and Amanda Philapy and their children, Tyler, Rayven, Xzavior, Ezra, Trevor, Makayela and Brendan; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mark is preceded in death by his brother, David King; sister, Sue Morris; and his niece Kinley King, whose hand he is holding in heaven. Family will receive friends Wednesday, November 7 from 4-7pm at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home, 2097 W. Alto Road, Kokomo, IN 46902. Funeral service will be Thursday, November 8 at 1pm, also at Sunset Memory Garden, to be officiated by Pastor Aaron Hogue. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Nevada Church of God, 388 E. 625 N., Sharpsville, IN 46068.
