Obituary of Mark D. Zirkle
Mark D. Zirkle, 52, of Greentown passed away at 7:38 PM Thursday, September 12, 2019. Born May 5, 1967 in Marion, Indiana he is the son of Gary Zirkle and Susie (Craig) Belt. Mark was a 1986 graduate of Eastern High School. On December 10, 1988 in Kokomo, He married Beth Ann (Imbler), and she survives. Mark had been employed with Hinkle Construction, Bill's Lawn Care, and was currently managing their rental properties. Mark enjoyed the outdoors, camping, boating, playing ping-pong with his friends; he especially liked working in his barn and yard. He enjoyed going to garage sales and antiquing with his wife. His kids were his world and he devoted much of his time coaching their sports and being involved in their school functions. He loved being PAPAW to his five grandchildren, who meant the world to him. The last two years, he and his wife traveled to many places on their bucket list and just recently returned from Alaska. He loved Christmas and was well known for his Christmas lights display. Most of all he loved his wife and family. Mark was a member of American Legion Post #317 of Greentown, past Greentown volunteer fireman, and attended Abundant Life Church. Survivors include his wife of over 30 years, Beth Ann Zirkle of Greentown; one son Brady Zirkle of Kokomo; two daughters Brittany (Kyle) Dillon of Indianapolis and Brooklyn (Kyle) Dugdale of Greentown; his father Gary (Sharon) Zirkle of Kokomo; his mother Susie (George) Belt of Kokomo; one brother Todd Zirkle of Kokomo; two step-sisters Cheryl Smith and Pam Cavanaugh, both of Indianapolis; five grandchildren Elliette Dillon, Laken Dillon, Callahan Dillon, Koralyn Dugdale and Kohen Dugdale; in-laws Mike (Brenda) Imbler of Greentown; brother-in-law Troy Welch; sister-in-law Shannon Miller (Tony Comoglio); also several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday September 18, 2019 at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel, 3400 South Webster Street, Kokomo. Pastor Charlie Riley and Toph Elkins will officiate. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, Greentown, IN. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday at the mortuary. Memorials may be directed to Abundant Life Church with envelopes available at the mortuary.
