Obituary of Mary O. Archer
Mary O. Archer, 93, went Home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 10th, 2019 at Waterford Place Health Campus. She was born to Walter and Birdie Overman on July 3rd, 1925 in Kokomo. Mary was a 1943 graduate of Kokomo High School, then went on to marry Ernest Archer Jr. on March 8th, 1947. Mary spent her life dedicated to her husband of 6 weeks shy of 65 years. Ernest preceded her in passing on January 29th, 2012. Mary retired from Delco GM after 30 years of service in 1984. Mary enjoyed travelling and going on cruises with Ernest. The whole family loved to spend time outdoors and fish. She collected lead crystal at the many flea markets she visited. She bowled for the couples league, and the women's leagues in Kokomo. She loved to gather with family at their yearly reunions. Mary loved spending time with her grandchildren. Mary leaves behind her children Steven (Suzanne) Archer of Russiaville and Sharon (Mack) Darling of Missouri; sister Ethel Richardson of Missouri; brother-in-law Ronald Archer of Las Vegas; 9 grandchildren Anthony, Adrian and Shane Darling, Stephenie Jones, Nicole Landau, Meghan Collins, Sean Landau, Morgan Lafey, and Branden Archer; 16 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great grandchildren. Mary is preceded in passing by her husband, Ernest Archer Jr; her parents Walter and Birdie Overman; siblings Nathan Overman, Jennie Sanders, Dorothy Overman, Alvin Overman, John Overman, and Mildred Stoner; grandson Judge Archer. Friends and family may call from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 15th at Ellers Mortuary, 3400 South Webster Street, Kokomo, Indiana 46902. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM, officiated by grandson, Pastor Anthony Darling. Mary will be laid to rest at Sunset Memory Garden following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be directed to Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org, Alzheimer's Association 50 E 91st St, Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46240, to combat this terrible disease.
