Mary Katheryn (Mast) Conn

Mary Katheryn “Katie” (Mast) Conn, 84, of Kokomo passed away August 5, 2018. She was born July 1, 1934 in Kokomo to Verle and Margaret Mast. Mary knew about hard work from a very young age. She attended St. Patrick’s School and remained a life-long member. Mary was a caregiver and had a gift of kindness and compassion for others and enjoyed her work in home health care, taking care of others to improve their lives. Mary was a wonderful homemaker and a role model to her children. In her spare time, she had many hobbies: puzzles, watching television, movies and sports! She could always be found watching a game of any kind. She also enjoyed playing BINGO. She loved being surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her ex-husband Richard; brothers Bob Mast and Lloyd “Sonny” Lewis; sister, Helen Kirkpatrick; and daughter, Ruth Conn. Mary is survived by brother, Sam Mast; sisters, Maggie (Pat) Kline and Sr. Loretta Ann Ewing; children, Mary (Tim) Miller, Theresa (Kirk) Scheumann, and Bill Conn; grandchildren, Stephanie (Zach) Overman, Zach (Megan) Miller, and Hannah Keck; great grandchildren, Marshall, Makenzie, Mason and Cora; and many nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends Tuesday, August 7 from 5-8pm at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home, 2097 W. Alto Road, Kokomo, IN 46902. Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, August 8 at Noon at St. Patrick’s Church, 1229 N. Washington St., Kokomo, IN 4690, officiated by Father Brian Dudzinski, with entombment to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Patrick’s Church.
